The Modern Comfort Solutions Story
Modern Comfort Solutions started in response to the need for quality contractors that provide fair prices. Our Aim is to continually raise the bar of what is expected of a Heating and Air Conditioning Company. Our trade can be so confusing and mysterious. Think about it. You turn a dial or flip a switch and your house becomes warm or cold. When it stops working you call out a repairman and he or she pulls out a bunch of strange looking tools and in a short period of time your house is comfortable again. You may have heard of us when we were J & L Air Systems, inc. J & L Air Systems was founded by Jim and Liz Silvio in Ventura County CA in 2000. After 15 years of serving the fine residents of Southern California, Jim and Liz decided to move to the Northstate along with their son Jake and start serving the residents there. Jake was later made a co-owner and at that time a new name was needed to better exemplify who they are and what they do. In Spring of 2017 J & L Air Systems became Modern Comfort Solutions, inc.

Management Team
Jim Silvio
Jim was born in Oxnard Ca in 1957, and raised there. In 1979 he started in the HVAC trade as an apprentice in Indio Ca. After a couple of years in the desert he moved his family back to Oxnard and continued in the trade. He worked for several companies as a journeyman in the sheet metal workers union completing projects from custom homes to hospitals and factories. In 2000 he got his contractor license and started his own HVAC company. Jim has a broad knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and installation and service of most types of HVAC systems. He is passionate about learning how everything works and loves finding solutions to comfort problems. Jim has been married to his wife Liz since 1978 and together they have 3 children and 12 grandchildren and more to come. They have lived in Redding since 2015 and love spending time outdoors and volunteering at their church.
Jake Silvio
Jake was born in Oxnard, CA in 1981 and raised there. From the tender age of four, Jake followed his dad on weekends laying out materials for HVAC systems and learning the HVAC trade. Jake has held a couple different jobs including; Real estate agent, sales manager and marketing director. In 2011 Jake got his contractor license and started his own company. Jake loves meeting interesting people and finding the best solution to their comfort problems. He has a passion for learning about the most modern HVAC equipment and it’s best application. Jake has been married to his wife Jenn since 2010 and together they have 3 children. They have lived in Redding since 2015 and enjoy spending time at the lake with their family. Jake and Jenn have a heart for neglected children and open their home as certified foster parents.
